This free online Unicode to Preeti converter changes Nepali Unicode text into Preeti font encoding directly in your browser. Nepali text on the web uses Unicode, a universal encoding that works in every browser and on every device. But it doesn't copy cleanly into desktop applications like PageMaker or older versions of Word. You'll get garbled characters instead. Fonts
Mangal, Kalimati, Nirmala UI and Kokila are all Unicode fonts. They store the same Unicode characters underneath and only draw them differently on screen. So there is no special Mangal step and no special Kalimati step. Paste text typed in any of them into the converter above and the Preeti output is the same. That is why this site has one Unicode to Preeti converter instead of one page per font.
If your text shows as English letters, check the font name first. A font set to Preeti or Kantipur means legacy text, not Unicode, and the converter above will not read it right. The tool
Nepali text on the web uses Unicode Devanagari, a universal encoding standard that works in every browser and on every device. But older desktop publishing tools like PageMaker and Word were built around the legacy Preeti font, which maps Devanagari shapes onto ASCII codepoints. Both formats represent the same Devanagari script, just through different character architectures.

Accuracy
The converter is built on a hand-checked table of the Preeti keyboard layout. Every key, shifted key and multi-key sequence is mapped to its Unicode Devanagari equivalent. A syllable-level engine reorders i-matras, rephs and conjuncts the way the font draws them.
We verify it with 401 automated conversion checks. They cover bare consonants, every matra, half forms, conjuncts, reph clusters and digits, in both directions, plus round trips from Unicode to Preeti and back. The tricky cases are tested explicitly:क्क (half-form conjunct),कर्म (reph cluster) andकि (i-matra reordering) all convert to the exact Preeti keystrokes a trained typist would press.
That is what "most accurate" means on this site. The engine is built for the syllable-ordering cases where character-by-character converters fail, and the 401 checks prove those cases keep passing. It is not a rating, testimonial, or comparative study against other converters.
