Preeti Font Download & Install Guide
The Preeti font is what turns converted text into readable Nepali. Download it free, install it in under a minute, and your Unicode to Preeti output will display correctly everywhere.
What the Preeti font is
Preeti is a legacy Nepali font from 1993 that maps Devanagari shapes onto English keyboard codepoints. That is why converted text looks like random English letters until the font is applied. The letters are placeholders the font redraws as Nepali. It is not bundled with Windows or macOS, so it must be installed once on each computer where you want to read or print Preeti text.
Download the font
Get Preeti.ttf from a reputable font archive. Two safe options:
- fonts2u.com — Preeti font page: established font archive, direct TTF download
- GitHub — Nepali fonts collection: open collection including
preeti.ttf
Avoid random "free download" pages with pop-ups and fake download buttons. A font file should only ever be a few dozen kilobytes.

Common questions
- Is the Preeti font free to download?
- Yes. Preeti is a legacy Nepali font from 1993 that is freely shared across font archives. Download it from a reputable font site, never from random pop-up download pages.
- Why does my converted text look like English letters?
- Because the Preeti font is not installed on that computer. Preeti maps Nepali shapes onto English codepoints, so without the font the raw codes show. Install the font and the Nepali shapes appear.
- Do I need the Preeti font to use the converter?
- No. The converter runs entirely in your browser and needs nothing installed. You only need the Preeti font on computers where you want to display or print the converted text.
